Every year the SACRED HEART of JESUS CHURCH-OLD HUKOU COMMUNITY held a Sportsfest for all Filipino Migrant Workers of Taiwan residing within the vicinity of Old Hukou, Hsinchu County. This is to promote camaraderie, solidarity & sportsmanship among Filipino workers, amidst of the recession.
The said event was opened yesterday, March 20 and participated by different companies & eateries inside the Hsinchu Industrial Park. And headed by the Sports Chairman & the PPC president, the show started at 8:30 AM.
Here are some of the highlights of the event.

The Annual sportsfest will be hopefully ends on June 2011.
And the prizes for the winners is at follows:
for the champion- NT$15000
1st Runner Up-NT$8000
2nd Runner Up-NT$5000
And on behalf of the Old Hukou Community's PPC president & sports chairman and as the VP of the community I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all who participated and made the opening of the Annual Sportsfest a great success. Mabuhay ang Filipino!!!
Its been a busy month, simula pa lang ng buwan ng Marso, hindi na ako makapagupdate ng blog. Namiss ko naman to, syettt. Sa mga nakamiss sa akin (as if meron!), busy po ang inyong lingkod sa nalalapit namin sporstfest. At bilang bahagi ng taunang pagbibigay aliw (hindi yung aliw na iniisip mo!) sa ating mga kababayan dito sa Taiwan, ang aming komunidad mula sa Old Hokou Church ay magsasagawa ng Sportsfest para sa iba't ibang kumpanya na may pinoy, kasama na rin dito ang ibat ibang pinoy foods & resto. Ito ay magsisimula mamaya (March 14), kung hindi uulan (opo, kung sa pinas kelangan ng ulan, dito kailangan naming tumila bukas). Kung sa ibang bahagi ng mundo lalong lalo na sa pinas ay ang laban ni pacquiao at clottey ang pagkakaabalahan, kami dito ay busy din sa larong basketball for boys & sa volleyball for girls.

Ang layunin at adhikain ng palakasang ito ay upang magkaisa at magkakilanlan ang lahat ng pinoy sa aming komunidad. Moreover, ang palarong ito ay naglalayon ding maibsan ang lungkot, homesick at pangungulila ng iba sa mga taong naiwan nila sa Pilipinas. Batid naman nating hindi lahat ng OFW ay nakakaranas ng ginhawa pagdating sa trabaho, marami sa ating mga kababayan ang nakakaranas ng lufet ng kapalaran, but then sa kabila ng mga barriers gaya ng lenggwahe at kultura, patuloy pa rin tayong mga Pinoy na nagkakaisa at nagtutulungan upang magbigay ligaya at saya sa bawat isa (insert wowowee theme).
On behalf of the sportschairman, nagpapasalamat po ang old hukou community sa lahat ng nagbigay ng kani-kanilang entry at suporta sa taong ito. Meron po tayong 12 teams for basketball (Amkor, UMC, Sharen Pinoy Foods, Lead Data, HONOR, Bamboo Grill, Taiway, PTI, TCI, Gigastorage, China Electric & one pinoy resto) & 3 teams for volleyball (Amkor, Sigurd & FuSheng).
MABUHAY ang lahat ng Pilipino saan man sa mundo!!!
